Lara no longer works at Message.
I was brought up in Tokyo, Japan with my three sisters and would like to say I can speak Japanese but due to International schooling it is still a dream I would like to make a reality one day. When I was 7 we all moved to Kent, which as you could imagine was quite a culture shock at first. I finished school at 18 and took a diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign language before going to India for four months, if you haven't been to India, I recommend it to anyone who gets a kick from being in a completely unpredictable environment, the people are lovely, the scenery is breath taking and the food is different to say the least!
I moved to Brighton in 2006 when I started a communication and media degree at Brighton university. I have worked in PR, Market research and retail management all of which I enjoyed, but through my various career experiences I have realised the media industry is where my passion lies.
I was accepted to do an internship at Message through Wired Sussex shadowing the projects manager (Melita) and when my internship came to an end I was thrilled to be offered a full time job as the Production Assistant.
I am currently doing a bit of everything from making a pretty mean coffee (If I say so myself) to composing marketing and PR strategies for internal projects. I help keep the production side of things run as smoothly as possible and I thoroughly enjoy working with such a lovely group of people. I am proud to be able to say I am part of the team.
